A New Project!

We've been given a new project to complete at university today.

The project has been named 'The Sandman' and basically we have to keep a record of our dreams in a dream diary, which will eventually be turned into a one page comic.

The rules are, we are only allowed to use a ballpoint pen for the diary and anything other than pencil or fineliner for the final piece.

Already I think this is going to be difficult, as I can never remember all of my dreams, other than the really vivid ones. We have been given permission to use daydreams too, so I guess that makes it a little easier on everyone.

Plus, although I don't mind using ballpoint pen (I've used it for entire art pieces before as a single medium) it'll be difficult to not use fineliners in order to achieve the smooth lines and finish they can give.

However, although this project may be a challenge, it's a very interesting concept. I haven't thought about doing this before and the drawings are in whatever way we wish to interpret it... Although the final piece needs to be in the style of either 'The Yellow Kid', 'Little Nemo', 'Krazy Kat', 'Gasoline Alley', 'The Kin-Der-Kids' or 'Dream of the Rarebit Feind', which, again, adds it's own challenge as I've never drawn in their styles before.

I'll post my progress on the site... maybe in a separate folder for uni work...
